Membership

Why Become a MERA Member?

Discounts on children's camp & workshops, discount on rentals, access to the many ongoing programs, a vote at the annual general meeting in March. Membership fees form a significant portion of the funds required for building maintenance, heat, hydro, telephone, communications, insurance and the administration that all of this entails.

Ongoing Programs:

Weaving, quilting, pottery, knitting & crocheting, fibre arts, basketry, dance, fine arts, glass arts, book club, garden club, and so much more!

MERA Membership

Becoming a member of MERA brings you into an exciting, award winning community arts and recreation organization! You must be a member in good standing to belong to any of the Arts & Crafts groups at MERA, or to stand for or be selected for the MERA Board of Directors. Even if neither of these situations applies to you right now we encourage you to become a member.

Membership benefits include:

Access to the many ongoing programs
Discounts on workshops and the Children’s Summer Camps
Voting privileges at the Annual General Meeting
Most importantly: belonging and contributing to a vibrant local community recreation and arts organization

Fees

2025 Membership Fee Options

Single: $60.00 yearly
Returning Family: $90.00 yearly
New Family: $60.00 first year only

Membership fees form a significant portion of the funds required for building maintenance, heat, hydro, telephone, communications, insurance and the administration that all of this entails.

Membership fees noted above are intended to cover the period from January 1 to December 31. Fees for memberships paid between January 1 and September 30 are for the remainder of the current year. Memberships paid after September 30 will grant membership for the remainder of the year plus all of the following year to December 31.

Become A Volunteer

MERA Volunteers

MERA depends on volunteers! We always welcome people with some time to offer. The Schoolhouse was renovated by volunteers and is presently maintained and run by the generosity of people who donate their time, with the assistance of a part time administrator and a part time caretaker.

MERA sustains itself only with help from the community. Volunteers at MERA work in various areas including fundraising, promotions, construction, gardening and kitchen wizards for special events.

Our members have found volunteering a great way to learn new skills, meet new friends, and gain experience that enhances our community.
