So far this fall Music at MERA has brought four very different (Cassical, Electric Blues, County/Folk, Jazz) successful concerts to MERA and the response has been great. There are just two more concerts this fall, and this next show is a big one! Valdy at the Knox Presbyterian Church in McDonald’s Corners. A fabulous performer in a wonderful setting.
We moved the concert to this larger venue because we were sure that there would be a great response, and there has been. We are most grateful to the congregation of the Knox Presbyterian Church for their cooperation and generosity that allows us to offer this concert to a larger audience in a such a special place.
As anticipated, there has been tremendous interest in this show. As of Monday Nov. 11 this concert is sold out.

Thursday, November 14 at 7:00 we bring the one and only Valdy to the Knox Presbyterian Church for a special mid-week evening performance. Valdy is an icon of the Canadian folk scene who brings a rich catalogue of his original compositions such as “Rock & Roll Song”, “A Good Song” and “Simple Life” together with other classics of the genre that he has made is own such as “Renaissance” by David Bradsteet, “Yes I Can” by Bob Ruzicka and “Sonny’s Dream” by Ron Hynes.
Valdy has sold more than half a million copies of his eighteen albums, has two Juno Awards (Folk Singer of the Year and Folk Entertainer of the Year), a total of seven Juno nominations and four Gold albums to his credit. In 2011, Valdy was appointed the Order of Canada, one of the highest civilian honours available in Canada. With over four decades of experience, Valdy is relaxed and at home with any audience and plays with the energy and passion of a man still in love with music and life.
In response to the strong demand this concert will be held “just down the hill” from MERA at the Knox Presbyterian Church, 5664 McDonald’s Corners Road in McDonald’s Corners. This lovely 113 year old building features intimate seating “in the round” and great acoustics.
