MERA Art Circle

The MERA Art Circle is open to all!

Perhaps you are a visual artist looking for a new environment to stimulate you creativity. Or perhaps you would like to get back into creating art again now that you have more time. Or perhaps you just want to try something new and creative, no matter your level of experience in the visual arts.

All that you require is an interest in being creative and a MERA membership. The Art Circle meets the first and third Friday of each month, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Members are encouraged to explore their artistic interests in whatever medium they chose.

Be prepared to learn from and be inspired by what others in the group are working on. Informal presentations or technical instructions to the group will occur when a member feels they have something to offer. However there will be plenty of time to work on your own piece and trade ideas and techniques with others in a casual way.

After only 5 years in existence the group has hosted 4 art shows at MERA displaying a delightful variety of works. The work at each successive show has shown a marked improvement and has sold very well.

The Arts Circle will be starting the new 2018 fall/winter season with a free fall fun arts session led by Gloria Lee-Shoebridge, on September 7th, the first Friday of the month. We will gather again, as we have in the past, on the third Friday of every month, which is the 21st of September. We will continue that pattern of first and third Friday unless otherwise noted ahead of time. All sessions start at 9 and end at noon.

Come and join us, whether you are a beginner or more experienced. Each attendee will be required to bring their own paints, brushes, and materials and this first class will be using acrylics and several firm supports, either framed canvas or framed wood. Textural materials will be provided by Gloria. Be sure to bring your laughter and sense of play.

We will be discussing further sessions as well on September 7th so please bring your ideas and wish list and make this wonderful art cooperative a continued success.
