Every two years, MERA is honoured to present the Award of Excellence in Fine Arts and Fine Crafts to a local artist who demonstrates excellence in their work. The deadline for this year’s award is April 30, 2019. The MERA Award includes a cash prize of $1000 to the winning artist who is chosen by a jury of three visual arts professionals. Additionally, each MERA Award recipient and runner(s) up is given the opportunity to publicly present his or her artwork at the time the prize is awarded, this year on June 16th, at the MERA Schoolhouse. MERA Members are welcome to attend. Complete details will be posted on the online calendar at a later date.

This prize is funded in large part by the generous donation to the Perth and District Community Foundation (PDCF) made by Chris and David Dodge who conceived the Award in 2008. An anonymous donor and MERA also contribute financially to this prestigious award.
